Yesterday's Making Memories workshop was exhusting but oh, so fun! Bring your books to the next crop. I would love to see how they turned out.

I am going to teach a two page layout at Debbie Moudy's crop on September 19th. Here is a picture of one of the pages:

The second page is very colorful and "leaves" room for you to create a page element to fit your style! Let me know if you are interested in this class. The cost is $10 and is available as a kit.
Quanities are limited.

I also wanted to tell everyone about two of my friends, Lori Smithers and Kay Savage. They have teamed up to create Memories across the Miles. Go to their website and check them out. It is http://www.memoriesacrossthemiles.com/ They also have a blog at http://www.memoriesacrossthemiles.blogspot.com/ I am trying to work out my schedule to go to their next event which is in Texas. Anyone want to go? And how about that cruise in February? Sounds like a girl trip to me!

Next on my list is pages for Sharon and Vickie's next crop. I'm thinking fall, Halloween and Thanksgiving. I'm waiting on some new paper lines to arrive before I get started. Hope they come in soon.

Cool Crop....that's what I experienced yesterday. We were just wishing the weather would have been a little bit cooler.

Vickie and Sharon hosted a wonderful crop at the B&G Club. My friend, April Derrick, taught two classes using alcohol ink. The layout we did was awesome.

I taught 2 pages using the Get Happy collection from Cosmo Cricket. I am posting the layouts here so those of you who wanted to scrap lift can do so.

Next on the list is my Making Memories workshop for Tuesday, August 12th. There are only 2 spots left so let me know soon if you want to be included.

ATTENTION: I have something to give away! That's right. One lucky blog reader will get a wonderful R.A.K. by just answering these two questions:

  • Do you give homemade "scrapbook" type gifts as Christmas presents?
  • Would you like to attend a Christmas gift workshop in November?

I'll keep the questions open until Wednesday, August 6th at noon.

I'm off to my couch to watch a movie and have a relaxing Sunday afternoon.

It seems like so long ago that I blogged. Oh, wait...it was a long time ago. Sorry 'bout that. I've been a little busy lately.

I went to CHA last week up in Chicago. WOW! There is some amazing scrapbook things coming out in the next few months. I got tons of ideas for classes and workshops. Think FALL! Wonderful stuff.

I've planned a class for Tuesday, August 12th. It's going to be a Making Memories workshop where we will create a mini album with a ton of cute pages. You'll find space to record all you family's summer fun. Class is $40 and is scheduled from 5 pm to 10 pm but I will be available all day if you want to start earlier. A $20 deposit is required by August 6th to hold a spot for you.

Here is a picture of some of the papers we will be using in the workshop:

Oh, I almost forgot the best part. The wonderful folks at the Making Memories booth at CHA gave me something awesome for each of my students. I am sure you will love it as much as Sharon and I did! Sign up early.
Back to designing my next class. Good stuff!

Happy July! Holy Cow...is it July already!

I had a creative day on Saturday playing with the new Scenic Route Liberty paper collection. You can see it at http://www.scenicroutepaper.com/

I'm one of the worst about journaling...I don't like to do it. I know it is one of the most important parts of a scrapbook layout but it is hard for me to do. This layout will get it's journaling but I just had to share it first. So to explain, our youngest son, Matthew, was born on July 3rd which happened to be my inlaws 41st wedding anniversary! My father-in-law was an internal medicine doctor in town and as busy as the hospital was that day, ALL his associates had to stop by to see the last of the Wilkins clan to be born. He was 7 lbs 15 ounces and so adorable. I spent less than 24 hours in the hospital because I didn't want to miss the festivities at my Mom & Dad's house the next day! Today, he is a 190 pound 6'3" grad student with a wonderful spirit. Love you Matt!

Next week I am heading to CHA to check out all the new products. So exciting! I love fall and all that goes along with it. The summer CHA will be so refreshing with all the fall and Christmas lines coming out. I hope to bring back some wonderful class ideas.

Be watching for the new SLICE machine from Making Memories. Sharon and I are taking a class at CHA to learn how to use it. Check it out on http://www.makingmemories.com/ We both have a machine on order. Hopefully it will be here by the August 2nd crop.

Take care everyone....

Where, oh where, has this {little} girl been! Where, oh where, has she been? That's been a question for the whole month of June. The answer is BUSY! Here's a list of just a few things that's been going on:
  • Working at the boy's sporting goods store getting a new computer system installed
  • Keeping the grandsons as much as possible
  • Getting the yard ready to build a new swimming pool
  • Held a couple of scrapbooking classes
  • Celebrated a couple of family birthdays
  • Went on a fabulous vacation
  • Packed 180 pages for last Saturday's crop
  • made two mini albums with new Making Memories product
  • ...the list could go on and on and on....

Speaking of vacation, we went to Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas. Everybody got to go except Matt and Morgan. They are both in Grad school and could not miss class. We sure missed them.

This is Paradise Island. We go there every year. LOVE IT! The water park is fabulous and the ocean is too. They have a rapid river all around the water park and we all loved that. Jaxon kept us on our toes because he has no fear! The little dude loves the water.

This is how Jeremy liked to travel.

This past Saturday was Sharon and Vickie's crop. We had a LARGE crowd and tons of fun. I taught a 6 page class of summer layouts. Here is one of my favorites.

So what is next? For the August 2nd crop, I have ask my good friend April Derrick to come teach us all about Alcohol Ink. She's AMAZING with this stuff. I know everybody will want to take this class. It's only $5 per person! Also at the crop I will teach two 12x12 layouts for $10. I am trying to fit in a July class. I'll post here when I know more.

Now to start my Monday....have a great one!

I seem to be on a scrapbooking kick lately of pulling a few products off the shelf and out of the cubbies and creating as many layouts as possible. We all know the beautiful supplies we seem to collect is calling out to be USED! LOL So, this layout is another example of just that. (Click on the picture to make it bigger) Those of you who signed up for my class at the June 28th crop will see lots of examples of this idea. Here is one to share now.

Still using the Bazzill Just the Edge strips and flowers but this time I added some Die Cuts with a View scalloped paper, Daisy Bucket patterned paper, a strip from the Get Happy collection from Cosmo Cricket and the new paper brads from Bazzill. There is more on the layout but I think you get the picture. I love how all these products from different companies come together. I need to add the date across one of the tags and I am going to use the MM tiny alpha stickers that are at the office.

Did you know that the June 28th crop class is so popular that I added an afternoon session? There are still a few spots open if you missed out on the first group. You don't have to come to the crop to take my class. Contact me if you are interested.

Oh, tonight was a big night for the Wilkins family...Jeremy graduated from preschool complete with a ceremony on stage and a picnic. So cute. I can already see the layouts in my head.

Have a great weekend. Spend it with the ones you LOVE!
